Seeking Asian Director for Staged Reading of Historical Play on China

Thru the generorsity of Louis Yingduo Liu and the Zhou Brothers, a new play by Jyl Bonaguro is being read this October during Chicago Artist Month. Jyl has lived in South Korea and studied in mainland China and Tibet along with an exhibition in Hong Kong. She would like to collaborate with an Asian director for her latest play that requires 5 asian actors, 3 of whom, are strong willed females whose stories are little known outside of China. Swan Soong is a tale of three powerful Chinese sisters as seen through the eyes of American author and pet ape collector Emily Hahn aka Mickey. Intrigues, love and double crossing abound as these one time celebrities' stories are woven together to reveal the power of family and the beginnings of modern China. A new play by Jyl Bonaguro set in 1940s war torn Shanghai.
